Meeting with Sportello Latinoamericano

The meeting with Sportello Latinoamericano represents a new thread in the network that TEJIDAS weaves, strengthening the network of partnerships for integration in Italy.

On September 8, Isabel Vargas met with Alejandra Granada, head of the Piattaforma Sportello Latinoamericano, for a coordination and presentation meeting between the two initiatives.

Sportello highlighted an issue we know all too well: the importance of recognizing professional degrees and qualifications so that migrants can legally practice their profession in Italy. Without such recognition, neither the training nor the experience obtained in the country of origin is valid for practicing the profession in Italy—a process that, as appropriate, is handled by the Ministry of Universities and Research (equivalence of academic degrees) or the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (recognition of professional qualifications), with different procedures for people from the EU/EEA/Switzerland and for those coming from outside the Union.

Sportello expressed interest in joining the TEJIDAS community and in offering guidance to the women in our network on this and other integration procedures in Italy. For us, gaining allies who support such concrete processes as this is another step toward building the bridge we want to create between our talent and the real opportunities available in the region.
