I am a Bolivian professional named Maria Isabel Vargas Antezana. I hold a degree in Architecture and Construction from the University of “Nuestra Señora de La Paz” in La Paz, Bolivia. My experience in the field of design and construction is limited because I emigrated at a very young age, and my professional career in Italy—the heartland of architecture and a love for beauty—has been centered more on the international arena.
My professional career has focused mainly on diplomatic protocol, public relations, and administrative management. I have built my experience in the multilateral and consular spheres through key roles at the Bolivian Embassy in Italy and to the Holy See. In this regard, I earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and Integration from the “Universidad Mayor de San Andrés” in La Paz, Bolivia, a program designed to help students achieve and perform at the highest level.
Throughout my career, I have held positions of high responsibility, such as Head of the Administrative Secretariat and Assistant to Heads of Mission, managing institutional schedules, official correspondence, and translation and interpretation (Spanish, Italian, and English). In addition to my diplomatic background, I have developed solid experience in cultural mediation, fundraising for social projects, and community projects aimed at the integration of migrants in Italy.
Capitalizing on my experience in mobility and inclusion, I am currently leading the “TEJIDAS” Platform project as a co-founder. This community space is dedicated to empowering Latin American women in Europe, with an initial focus on Rome.
Through TEJIDAS, we will build connections that foster personal and professional growth; we value each woman’s experiences and challenges; we share knowledge and opportunities; we foster authentic and lasting relationships; and we collaborate and grow together.
